HISTORY
A Vision Begins
Built on conviction, driven by purpose.
The YAHQI Islamic Boarding School was founded with the vision of developing a generation of resilient Quran memorizers with noble morals and prepared to face the challenges of the times. Focusing not only on memorization and Islamic studies, YAHQI also equips students with life skills and critical thinking skills, which are essential in the modern era.
As a modern Salaf Islamic boarding school, YAHQI combines the strengths of Islamic boarding school traditions with a contextual and applied educational approach. Its primary mission is to produce students who not only master knowledge but also apply it in real life, becoming individuals who contribute to their religion, nation, and global society.
Founder Figure
The heart behind our mission.
Abuya Mohammad Wahyudi, the founder and caretaker of the YAHQI Islamic Boarding School, not only pioneered this Islamic boarding school as a form of devotion to knowledge and the community, but also as a response to years of anxiety he had felt. His observations of the reality of Islamic boarding school education in various places led him to realize that many students, after graduating, were unable to optimally apply the knowledge they had learned. In fact, many felt lost and unprepared to face the outside world.
According to Abuya, knowledge that doesn't shape character and equip students with real-life skills will be easily forgotten and have no impact. This sparked a strong determination to establish an Islamic boarding school that not only teaches memorization and religious knowledge, but also fosters the mentality, morals, and life skills that society truly needs.
YAHQI was founded in response to the need for Islamic boarding schools that combined Salafi values with a modern approach. Abuya designed the YAHQI educational system with a curriculum that combines strong religious studies, such as memorization and recitation of the Quran, with supporting programs such as foreign language skills, public speaking training, self-management, and even digital leadership and da'wah.
With full confidence and passion to build a superior generation, Abuya promoted the concept of the Modern Salaf Islamic Boarding School—an Islamic education rooted in traditional values yet adaptive to current developments. This was not just an idea, but Abuya's determination to produce students who would one day become leaders, educators, and enlighteners of society.
Steps taken with trust and effort.
Journey Steps
The journey of the YAHQI Islamic Boarding School began long before its inauguration in 2014. Initially, Abuya Mohammad Wahyudi cared for a handful of students in a simple rented house, despite its limitations. At the time, he only had a dozen students, but a spirit of devotion and sincerity were his primary driving forces.
As time went by, Allah SWT opened the way. Public trust began to grow, the number of students increased, and YAHQI received a waqf (endowment) in the form of a building and land for further development.
The culmination of this initial struggle was the inauguration of the YAHQI Islamic Boarding School in 2014 by a prominent scholar and Qur’an expert, Prof. Dr. KH. Ahsin Sakho Muhammad, MA (Al-Hafizh). He is widely known as an expert in the field of qiraat asyroh and various Qur’anic sciences, and his presence at the inauguration of YAHQI was a blessing and strengthened the legitimacy of this Islamic boarding school as a serious and highly committed Qur’anic educational institution.
Continuing our mission with hope.
Present & Future
Today, YAHQI continues to develop into a Tahfidz and Language Islamic Boarding School that prioritizes a balance between religious knowledge, morals, and life skills. With a growing student population, increasingly diverse programs, and continuously improved facilities, YAHQI is firmly on track to become the best Islamic boarding school in the Bojonegoro region.
One noteworthy achievement is the opportunity for students to take short courses abroad, such as in Malaysia, Thailand, and Singapore. Through these programs, students not only learn religious knowledge and language, but also broaden their global perspectives, interact across cultures, and bring the spirit of Islamic propagation to the international level.
The Islamic boarding school's motto, "Believe you can, must be able, definitely can," continues to be the spirit in every step of the students and teachers, as a reminder that with belief, effort, and prayer, success is not just a dream, but a goal that can be achieved.
