There's also a "Cooking Competition." The female students showcase their culinary talents. They try their best to create the most delicious dishes. Once the dishes are ready, the judges will evaluate the students' cooking.
Rising the winner
The event concluded in the afternoon with the announcement of the winners and the presentation of prizes. The students eagerly awaited the announcement of the competition winners.
It turns out the August 17th celebrations didn't stop there. That evening, the students had the opportunity to convey the meaning of independence to them. In front of their peers, they shared what independence means to them. This activity was not only a forum for honing their public speaking skills but also a moment of reflection for the students. They also had to strive to free themselves from laziness and other obstacles that hinder their success.
It’s not over yet
Nobar or Watch Together is the closing after participating and competing in the Indonesian Independence Day Celebration.
The meaning of “kemerdekaan bagi santri”
The Meaning of Independence for Students “Independence is not just about being free from colonialism. Even though we are independent, it doesn’t mean we are free from colonialism. It turns out that colonialism in this era has metamorphosed not through war, but can originate from things we are not aware of. It can even originate from ourselves, such as laziness, complacency, reluctance to try, giving up and surrendering easily, and many more. Now what we must do is fight all of that colonialism, so that we can be independent and achieve our success,” said one of the YAHQI students.
