Every October 22nd, all Islamic boarding school students (santri) across Indonesia commemorate Santri Day as a way of recognizing their struggle and role in the nation's history and development. The YAHQI Islamic Boarding School is no exception, celebrating this commemoration by holding various meaningful activities and fostering a spirit of togetherness.

Various Exciting Competitions to Sharpen Your Skills

In order to commemorate Santri Day, YAHQI Islamic Boarding School held various competitions aimed at honing the skills of students in various fields.

  • Speech Competition: Sharpening public speaking skills, students deliver speeches with inspirational themes related to students.
  • Public Speaking Competition: Train your confidence and speaking skills in front of an audience.
  • Yellow Book Reading Competition: Students demonstrate their ability to read and understand classic books that form the basis of religious education.
  • MHQ (Musabaqah Hifdzil Qur'an) Competition: Tests memorization of the Qur'an and accuracy in reciting it.

These competitions not only improve the students' skills, but also foster a competitive spirit and motivation to continue learning and developing.

Tasmi and Khataman

In addition to the competition, the YAHQI Islamic Boarding School also held a Tasmi (religious recitation) and Khataman (commemoration) event as part of its Santri Day commemoration. The students performed Tasmi bil ghoib (religious recitation) and Khataman (commemoration).

A communal prayer continued the event. One of the Musyrifah (religious leaders) led the prayer, praying for the safety and progress of the nation, and asking for blessings for all students to remain steadfast in their pursuit of knowledge and application in the community.
