The Excitement of the August 17th Competition at the YAHQI Boarding School
Indonesian Independence Day celebrations, held every August 17th, are always synonymous with various lively and joyful activities. One such activity is exciting and engaging competitions. At Pondok YAHQI, the administrators hold various competitions such as letter stacking, sack races, water relays, and many more.
All competitions were held in groups to foster teamwork and cohesion. The students appeared enthusiastic and happy as they participated in each competition. Laughter, cheers, and the enthusiasm of the supporters added to the atmosphere as the participants fought for victory.
Not only entertainment competitions, the management also prepares activities that hone skills, such as Story Telling using international and regional languages, debates about Indonesian independence, Quiz Competitions (CCA) about Indonesian culture, history
Series of Competitions
The Rock, Paper, and Rock, Paper, and Rock competition begins the competition. Each group consists of nine people. One member advances and runs toward the target point. If an opponent blocks the way, they must play Rock, Paper, and Rock. The loser returns to the starting line, while the winner continues directly to the target.
After that, it was time for the Letter Arrangement competition. The committee gave each group random letters to arrange into words within a certain time limit. The group that completed their arrangement the fastest was declared the winner.
The excitement continues with the Sack Race. Two members from each group jump first, followed by the rest of the group. They try to reach the finish line as quickly as possible while maintaining their balance in the sack.
Meaning and Purpose
The aim of these competitions is not just entertainment, but to strengthen togetherness and foster a spirit of cooperation among the students of YAHQI Islamic Boarding School.
This activity is concrete evidence that the spirit of independence can be realized through togetherness and solidarity in various positive activities. It is hoped that this spirit will continue to grow among the students and inspire others to hold similar events to celebrate Indonesian Independence Day.
