Implementation of the Independence Day Commemoration Ceremony

The 80th Indonesian Independence Day Ceremony at the YAHQ Islamic Boarding School The YAHQI Islamic Boarding School held a flag-raising ceremony on Sunday, August 17, 2025, in the Upper Hall of the YAHQI Islamic Boarding School. The ceremony began at 7:30 a.m. WIB and proceeded solemnly.

The ceremony officials were representatives of Al A'rof students, while the choir was comprised of students from Al A'rof and Al Kahfi. All students and administrators were present, creating a solemn and orderly atmosphere.

Ceremonial Mandate

Ceremony instructor. In his address, he emphasized that the spirit of Indonesian Independence Day must remain alive amidst the nation's current challenges. He touched on real-life issues for 2025, such as social inequality, the rapid flow of technology, the eradication of corruption, and the concerns of the younger generation.

Furthermore, he reminded students that they play a crucial role. They are not only guardians of the faith but also agents of change. Therefore, students must master both religious and worldly knowledge, be able to lead, innovate, and contribute to the nation.

Series of Events

The ceremony proceeded in an orderly manner, beginning with the hoisting of the Red and White flag by a selected honor guard. The national anthem Indonesia Raya accompanied the procession, with all participants standing tall and singing with great enthusiasm.

The event then continued with the reading of the Proclamation text, a moment of silence, the recitation of Pancasila, and the 1945 Constitution (UUD 1945). After that, a collective prayer was offered to honor the heroes and to express hopes for the nation’s progress.

Meaning and Hope

According to the administrators, the 80th Indonesian Independence Day ceremony at Pondok YAHQI was not merely ceremonial. Rather, it served as a moment to strengthen patriotism and renew commitment to maintaining national unity.

On the other hand, this activity also serves as a learning tool for the students to instill patriotic values. "It's not enough for the younger generation to simply understand history. They must also practice values ​​of struggle, such as discipline, responsibility, and cooperation, in their daily lives," explained one of the administrators.

Closing and Series of Competitions

Setelah upacara selesai, seluruh peserta bersama-sama menyanyikan lagu Hari Merdeka. Suasana menjadi semakin meriah ketika panitia membagikan hadiah lomba 17 Agustusan. Hadiah tersebut diberikan kepada para santri yang sebelumnya berpartisipasi dalam lomba keterampilan maupun lomba hiburan, seperti balap karung, susun huruf, dan suit game.

Ultimately, the entire series of events ran smoothly. Hopefully, through this activity, YAHQI students will be further motivated to celebrate independence with achievement, togetherness, and devotion to the nation and state.
