New Spirit: OSQI Chair Election Brightens the Start of the Semester at YAHQI Islamic Boarding School

To kick off the new semester, the YAHQI Islamic Boarding School once again held one of its special activities: the Election of the Chairman of OSQI (YAHQI Student Organization). This moment served as a learning opportunity for democracy for the students as well as a process of leadership regeneration for the 2025 term. With full enthusiasm and enthusiasm, the students actively participated in the election process, from the nomination stage to the voting.

End of OSQI 202 Term5

June 2025 marks the end of Ukhti Wulan's leadership, having served as Chair of OSQI for the past year. In her farewell address, Ukhti Wulan expressed her gratitude and thanks to all students and mentors for their togetherness and support during her tenure. She also conveyed her hope that OSQI will remain a solid, creative, and inspiring organization for all students.

Election Series: Democratic and Meaningful

The election ceremony began with a touching recitation of verses from the Quran. Ukhti Wulan then delivered her final remarks as president director, followed by the presentation of awards to students who had demonstrated impressive achievements throughout the previous year.

The event culminated with a simultaneous vote in each room (hujroh), led by the OSQI committee. Following the vote, Abuya led the inauguration and oath of office, followed by the awarding of a sash and pin to the president-elect. This symbolized the transfer of trust from the previous generation to the new leader.

OSQI 2025 President Director: Three New Leaders Have Been Elected

This year, the presidential director candidates come from three different chambers and have gone through an internal selection process and delivered inspiring speeches. Here are the names of the candidates nominated and now officially elected:

  • Ukhti Rosyida dari kamar Al-A’raf
  • Ukhti Tasya dari kamar Al-Kahfi
  • Ukhti Ima from the room Al-Furqon

They appeared confident as they presented their vision and mission to all the students, demonstrating their readiness to lead and serve as role models. The election process was peaceful and democratic, reflecting the students' maturity in democracy.

Abuya's Advice: Leadership Is a Trust

In the closing session, Abuya delivered wise advice on leadership. He emphasized that true leaders are not just good at talking, but also capable of real action, being a catalyst for good, and inspiring those around them. Abuya also reminded leaders to always be humble and prioritize the common good.

The event concluded with a documentation session with the elected president directors, Islamic boarding school administrators, and the OSQI advisory board. This moment marked the beginning of a new journey, filled with hope and enthusiasm to make OSQI even more dynamic, religious, and impactful for the Islamic boarding school community.
