New Year: Time to Upgrade Yourself

Muharrom!

Wow, wow, wow! It turns out the Islamic New Year has arrived!

YAHQI friends, what's on your agenda to welcome the new year?

This New Year, the YAHQI Islamic Boarding School held various interesting activities. In the afternoon before Maghrib, the students gathered in the main hall to pray together. One of the administrators led the prayer together to close the year 1445 H with the end-of-year prayer. While waiting for the Maghrib call to prayer, the students remained in their respective rows, chanting istighfar together and doing self-reflection. After Maghrib, the students continued with reciting the beginning of the year prayer. Not to forget, in the month of Muharram, the students continued with the recitation of Surah Yasin and Ayat Kursi. Then the students solemnly listened to advice from Abuya Moh. Wahyudi who closed this event.

However, the excitement didn't stop there. The next day, the students participated in various competitions to welcome the month of Muharram. These included calligraphy, yellow book reading, MHQ (the Quran recitation), qiroah (recitation of the Koran), and others, which lasted until the afternoon prayer. That evening, the much-anticipated event was the announcement of the winners and a sholawat performance by the YAHQI hadrah crew. It was so exciting, wasn't it?

The 1st of Muharram is the perfect moment for self-improvement. After reflecting on our shortcomings from the past year, it's time to turn over a new leaf. Let's embark on the journey to become the best version of ourselves! End-of-year prayers hold profound meaning as we ask for forgiveness for all our mistakes made in the past year. With our New Year's prayers, we hope that Allah will always guide us. So, are you ready? Be the better version of yourself!
