Mother's Day at YAHQI Islamic Boarding School: A Message to My Child
Mother's Day Agenda at YAHQI Islamic Boarding School, Ngasem Bojonegoro: Remembering Mothers' Struggle
Mother's Day at YAHQI Islamic Boarding School. In commemoration of Mother's Day, YAHQI Islamic Boarding School in Ngasem Bojonegoro held a series of special events from December 21st to 23rd. These activities took place at the YAHQI Islamic Boarding School's Hujroh Al A'raf, Al Furqon, and Al Kahfi Islamic Boarding Schools. As one of the offerings to commemorate Mother's Day, which falls on December 22nd.
Series of Events
December 21: The reading of wasilah opens today's agenda. Then the students will start carrying out tasmi' together as a form of respect and a special gift for Mother's Day.
December 22: After a full day of tasmi’ on December 22nd, the activity then closed with a prayer for the recitation of the Qur’an. In the evening, Abuya Moh. Wahyudi provided “gemblengan” or motivation to the students. In his message, Abuya emphasized the importance of total dedication in studying at the Islamic boarding school and the struggle to become a successful child. One who can make both parents happy. The event went smoothly despite the rain and power outages, but Abuya still took the time to convey motivation to all the students.
December 23rd: The final agenda was a Joint Self-Reflection. The session, "Mother: A Message for My Children," invited the students to reflect on the meaning of a mother's love and struggle through a video. It didn't stop there; the committee had prepared a surprise in the form of a video from each student's mother. In the video, the mothers prayed for their daughters' well-being. Many were moved to tears, both students and mothers.
Inspirational Message
This event is not only to commemorate Mother's Day on December 22nd, but also to remind the students that honoring their mothers should be a daily practice. Just as mothers tirelessly strive to care for, educate, and love their children, so with this event, we (the committee) encourage the students to honor their mothers every day. As Abuya always preached,
"Struggle, son. You must be a successful child so you can make your mother and father happy. To be successful, you must study hard and put in all your effort. Keep praying, God willing, you will succeed." This message is a motivating force for the students to continue striving for success to repay their parents' love.
Conclusion
The Mother's Day celebration at the YAHQI Islamic Boarding School was a meaningful, heartwarming moment that strengthened the bond between students and their parents, especially their mothers. Through devotions, prayers, training, and self-reflection, the students successfully encouraged them to remember and appreciate the extraordinary role of their mothers in their lives.
