Free Umrah Program for YAHQI Islamic Boarding School Students

Wednesday, July 30, 2025, was a day full of emotion at YAHQI Islamic Boarding School. A thanksgiving ceremony was held for two outstanding female students, Ukhti Siti Khoirotun Nafiah (Ukhti Nafik) and Ukhti Amalia Dwi Rahma (Ukhti Amel), who were selected to participate in the free Umrah program for YAHQI Islamic Boarding School students.

This program is a special appreciation for dedicated students who have memorized all 30 chapters of the Quran fluently. In addition to performing the Umrah, the two will also perform a Tasmi (recitation) of the 30 chapters in Mecca and Medina, a great honor and certainly a dream for any student. Their departure is scheduled for August 2, 2025, via Soekarno-Hatta Airport, Jakarta.

Sister Nafik's Inspirational Journey

Sister Nafik began memorizing the Quran while in high school. She has completed the 30 chapters of the Quran several times, but her dream of setting foot in the Holy Land has never come true.

She has a unique and inspiring story. When her Islamic boarding school launched a passport application program, she postponed it. Sister Nafik said,

"I want a free passport without paying."

Besides her strong determination, she always included a prayer for the opportunity to visit the House of Allah. Now, her prayer has been answered through the free Umrah program for students of the YAHQI Islamic Boarding School.

Sister Amel's Enthusiasm and Prayers

Unlike Sister Nafik, Sister Amel was enthusiastic about applying for a passport, even though she didn't yet know its purpose. She had memorized the Quran since childhood, with the full support of her mother.

In 2024, she performed the 30th chapter of the Quran recitation (tasmi) to coincide with Mother's Day. At the time, her father advised her,

"Don't just recite tasmi at home, pray that you can recite tasmi in Mecca."

These words truly held true for Sister Amel. She even attached photos of Mecca and Medina to her passport.

"I whispered to my passport, 'I hope I can perform Umrah when I'm 18,'" she said, movingly.

Now, that belief and prayer have come to fruition through the free Umrah program for students at the YAHQI Islamic Boarding School.

Emotional Atmosphere at the Thanksgiving Ceremony

The thanksgiving ceremony was attended by the parents of Ukhti Nafik and Ukhti Amel, the teachers of the Islamic teachings (Asatidz), and YAHQI students. The atmosphere was filled with emotion, especially when the talbiyah (prayer) was recited. Tears welled up in the eyes, as the longing to be guests of Allah was palpable in the hearts of everyone present.

May Ukhti Nafik and Ukhti Amel's departure inspire other students, and may we all soon join them in becoming guests of Allah in the House of Allah.
