Workshop: Making Money from Social Media

On Tuesday, August 13, 2024, the YAHQI Islamic Boarding School held a social media management workshop. The title was "Content Creation and Monetization Strategy." Because digital literacy is crucial nowadays, as the times are changing rapidly. Kak Wafa (Advada Wafa) was the speaker at this workshop. She is a content creator from Bojonegoro. Kak Wafa is the owner of the advada_wafa account, which frequently shares funny and interesting content. Kak Wafa is also the creator of berita_bojonegoro2, one of the latest news platforms in Bojonegoro.

The workshop participants were female students from the Islamic high school (Aliyah) and Islamic boarding school (Jam'iyyah). Kak Wafa delivered the material in an engaging manner, occasionally interspersing her trademark jokes. Social media is a crucial and highly beneficial tool. Even a small post can have a significant impact on people. If we manage social media properly and correctly, it can be a profitable source of income.

Opportunities for social media users

We need to keep up with the times and seize the opportunities that arise. The younger generation, in particular, must be more discerning in recognizing opportunities and be bold in seizing them. Furthermore, we should also be wise in our social media use. As Kak Wafa said, we must each have our own branding. And of course, good branding.

The workshop included not only material but also a Q&A session. The students were then given the task of creating a free piece of content. The students began practicing the steps involved in content creation, from idea generation to video capture and editing. Although some students had never created content before, they all tried to be as creative as possible. After completion, the videos were displayed on a projector screen for all workshop participants to watch.

At the end of the event, Kak Wafa also provided input and tips on content creation. She discussed when to upload, ensuring authenticity, how to keep viewers engaged, and much more. After the event, all participants took a photo workshop with Kak Wafa.
